Yesterday, at the age of 67, the renowned actor Michael Madsen passed away. He was well known to movie lovers for roles in films such as Reservoir Dogs (1992), Donnie Brasco (1997), Kill Bill (2004), Sin City (2005), and The Hateful Eight (2015), as well as over 300 other projects. According to reports, the cause of death was heart failure due to natural causes.
Madsen was also well known to video game fans, having lent his voice to a dozen different titles, including True Crime: Streets of LA (2003), Driver 3 (2004), Dishonored (2012), Crime Boss: Rockay City (2023), and others. But his most iconic virtual role was in GTA 3 (and its Definitive Edition) — Madsen voiced Toni Cipriani, one of the bosses on the first island.
However, he did not reprise this role in GTA: Liberty City Stories, where Toni is the main character. In that game, the role was taken over by Danny Mastrogiorgio. That’s because by then, the developers had stopped working with Hollywood stars. Nevertheless, this didn’t stop from paying tribute to the man who brought to life one of Liberty City’s most colorful gangsters.
