RDR 1 Is Coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, iOS, Android — and Will Be Included in Netflix and PlayStation Plus Game Catalog

6Yesterday, just a few hours before the official announcement, the ESRB — the American ratings board — published a rating page for RDR 1 (bundled with RDR: Undead Nightmare) for three current-generation consoles. Not long after that, similar listings appeared on the App Store and Google Play.
To the audience’s surprise, the platform lineup for this re-release turned out to be incredibly broad — the first Red Dead Redemption is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, iOS, and Android. Console versions will also be included in GTA+, one of them will join the PlayStation Plus game catalog, and the mobile versions will be part of the Netflix library. The release is scheduled for December 2. Owners of PS5 and Xbox Series X/S can look forward to several technical upgrades:

And it’s not even about the Netflix subscription — although it matters, and Netflix previously hosted GTA: Trilogy — Definitive Edition (only GTA: SA remains available now). By the way, this version requires 3.08 GB of free space on your device. What really matters is something else: this is the first RAGE-engine video game adapted in this way. This means that, in theory, smartphones and tablets could now receive ports of GTA 5 (likely without Online), GTA 4, Max Payne 3. Touch-control elements with stylish icons can be seen on the screenshots from the app-store pages: Two UK studios worked on these new versions: Double Eleven (responsible for earlier RDR 1 ports) and Cast Iron Games.
