Rockstar Games vs. the Union: New Protests, an Open Letter, and Parliament

3Since the layoff of 34 people two weeks have passed, and events around Rockstar Games are snowballing.
The first demonstrations, organized by the Independent Workers of Great Britain, are neatly summarized in a report that also explains the motivations of those affected. Former employees say they have no choice but to fight for reinstatement (and are also demanding compensation for the time since their dismissal). Simply finding another job isn’t an option — with a “dismissed for gross misconduct” mark, they might not be hired anywhere. The protests will continue. Today they were held outside Take-Two offices in London and Paris, and on Monday evening the protesters plan to return to Rockstar North headquarters in Edinburgh. The solidarity of the “rockstars” who kept their jobs has been shown not only by individuals joining the protests in person, but also through an open letter signed by 220 current employees. In their message to management, they call for everyone to be reinstated.
Meanwhile, IWGB representatives have announced that they have filed a lawsuit against Rockstar. They may have a real chance of proving their case — or at least achieving their goal through other means. As promised earlier, the incident has also drawn attention in the UK House of Commons. Christine Jardine, MP for Edinburgh West, raised the issue in her address. The Speaker assured that he would discuss the matter with ministers and look into what actions could be taken.
Let’s hope the situation is resolved soon so that its aftermath doesn’t affect the development of GTA 6 https://gta.com.ua/en/gta6.phtml.

Video game giant Rockstar has sacked more than 30 workers across the UK, including my constituents working at their Edinburgh office. I urged Ministers to support workers who have lost their jobs, and stop this from happening again. pic.twitter.com/Rtv4ppgEfp
