Vice Cry Quality of Life Patch is a collection of fixes and improvements for Vice Cry Reborn Final 2.0, designed to resolve annoying map and plugin bugs that prevent 100% game completion, and to make overall gameplay smoother and more enjoyable.

In addition to bug fixes, the patch updates all used plugins and adds several new ones.

Critical bugs that blocked story progression have been fixed, but occasional crashes may still occur (though now reduced to a minimum). Save often just in case.

Fixes

  • During the story mission Back Alley Brawl, the expanded HD model of the Ocean View building caused the cutscene to happen “inside the wall”: Tommy would appear trapped in a box, while Lance stood outside. Later, during the mission Guardian Angels, the chase scene started awkwardly — the Haitian bike crashed into the building’s collision box, then slowly navigated around it.
  • One hidden package was located inside a building’s collision box — only its glow was visible. Although it was still collectible, this has now been properly corrected. The file docks.col restores the original collision; docks.ipl restores the original building position (previously sunk below ground); and the line placing the replaced building in ViceCry\misc\misc_docks.ipl has been removed.
  • The old custom executable, suspected of causing crashes (for example, during RC missions) and incompatibility with RealTrafficFix, was replaced with the standard .exe + 4GB patch, along with fine-tuned limits set via fastman92 Limit Adjuster.
  • Added stability plugins from the VHS Edition mod to prevent random crashes.

Improvements

  • Installed Project 2dfx, improving map rendering and light visibility.
  • The frame rate is capped at 60 FPS using FramerateVigilante, which also fixes several physics-related issues, making gameplay smoother.
  • Added the vc_traffic mod with a custom configuration, which makes pedestrian and vehicle traffic spawning more configurable and increases overall traffic density. The mod also extends the LOD rendering distance for cars, effectively eliminating the use of simplified LOD models.
  • Memory limit increased to the maximum (2 GB, supported by the patched .exe). Vehicle fire-on-flip restored, infinite sprint disabled, gang member chatter reduced, and traffic/pedestrian density increased. Original font size and spacing restored. Other settings left at default.
  • VC.CLEO is updated with latest plugins.
  • ASI Loader, SilentPatchVC, Widescreen Fix, Open Limit Adjuster are updated.

Optional Mods

  • RealTrafficFix makes car movement more natural — vehicles now react to terrain, steer smoothly, and have turning front wheels.
  • OptimizedPaths + leaflinksbridge-fix improves pathfinding accuracy throughout Vice City and fixes the empty Leaf Links bridge.
  • HQ Radar improves radar image quality.
100% game completion was tested only in combination with Atmosphere Vehicle Pack Phoenix.

Installation:
  1. Install Vice Cry Reborn on a clean GTA: Vice City v1.0.

  2. Copy the contents of the patch folder into the game directory.

  3. Copy the contents of the optional folder into the game directory.
