21On May 30, an unusual incident took place — a hacker breached the database of a cheat menu provider and publicly released information related to nearly 64,000 users who paid to gain an unfair advantage in games such as GTA Online and Counter-Strike 2.
Atlas Menu is a paid cheat program known for its ability to bypass BattlEye. However, it has also been exposed as spyware capable of taking screenshots of users’ screens without their knowledge. This was the motivation behind the breach, carried out as retaliation against the creators of the cheat software. The hacker obtained and later published on GitHub email addresses, IP addresses, passwords, Discord IDs, and other personal data belonging to 63,900 people who had paid for cheats.
Communities surrounding both multiplayer games are now speculating that Rockstar Games and Valve may launch a large-scale ban wave targeting cheaters.
