Yesterday, the Nintendo Switch 2 console was officially presented, with its release scheduled for this year.
Compared to the previous model, it is larger, features improved controllers, and has multiple ports. However, reviewers note that the new console does not introduce anything revolutionary. The price remains unknown, though it is expected to be in the range of $400-450.
The next showcase is set for April 2, during which the launch lineup of games will be revealed. According to rumors, it may include RDR 2 and possibly GTA 5. It is almost certain that the console will support titles like L.A. Noire, GTA: Trilogy — Definitive Edition, and Red Dead Redemption via backward compatibility. Both digital and physical copies of games for the original Switch will work on the new console, though there will be some exceptions, details of which will be announced separately. As for GTA 6, it’s not expected to arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2. The console’s hardware, comparable to a PS4 or PS4 Pro, is insufficient for Rockstar’s anticipated blockbuster.
