Scammer Streamers Want to Cash In on GTA 6

No matter how freely people can access information, human nature inclines them toward being deceived — especially when the deception comes from someone they admire or even idolize. The most striking examples include the girl who became a viral meme under the name Hawk Tuah and quickly leveraged her fleeting fame to launch $HAWK, effectively scamming those who fell for the momentary hype. Or the Trump family, who introduced their own “currencies” just before the inauguration to milk money from populism enthusiasts, only to later claim it was merely a way to support the current U.S. president.
A special place in hell should be reserved for those “tycoons” who not only profit from their own popularity but also exploit the work of others. This is precisely what streamer Adin Ross and FaZe Clan representative Banks are attempting to do. During one of their meaningless live streams, they announced plans to launch an RP server based on GTA 6, supposedly allowing players to earn cryptocurrency just by playing. How does it work? The organizers plan to create their own RolePlay experience within an unreleased game, without knowing its mechanics or specifics. The scheme is simple: they lure in players with promises of quick and easy earnings while selling various upgrade packages — just as many RP servers do. In the end, the gaming community will be left with nothing but a glorified Hamster Kombat — wasted time in exchange for mere pennies, at best.
Given that developers are already exploring deeper modding possibilities and have openly opposed exploitative schemes in the past, frauds might run into legal trouble with Take-Two if they move forward with their plan. However, before that happens, their scam could already ensnare unsuspecting victims.
