Despite some issues and mixed reviews, GTA 5 Enhanced — a re-release of the nearly 12-year-old game — became one of the most profitable new releases (excluding DLCs and live service games) on Steam in March.
According to analytics firm GameDiscoverCo, Grand Theft Auto V ranked seventh, generating $9.2 million. It’s important to highlight that it was available for less than four weeks — since March 4 — and for the first half of the month, it was sold at a 50% discount. For comparison, the brand-new Assassin’s Creed Shadows earned $33.8 million in just seven days.
