This summer developers are more willing to share their plans for GTA Online, and we already know part of what’s announced for the remaining four months.
- Giveaway of GTA$ 1 million is scheduled for next Thursday, August 21. GTA+ subscribers will receive additional rewards.
- New Cayo Perico Survival mode will be released a week later, on the 28th. Subscribers will earn four times the money and reputation points through September 10.
- The traditional Halloween celebration.
- Community challenge related to law enforcement vehicles. Most likely, as usual, it will take place in November.
Spoilers! Below we show things not yet in the game. Whether to keep the intrigue or peek behind the curtain is up to you.
Contrary to expectations that Cayo Perico Survival would debut in October, it looks like they decided to tie it to the end of summer. It’s unknown how long it will remain available. At least two weeks, and then it may be removed — or at best put into rotation, returning only occasionally. As for Halloween, there’s a chance that last year’s Ludendorff Cemetery Survival will come back. The upcoming addition looks quite similar to it, although with some differences.
The island is divided into several zones (El Rubio’s compound, main docks, west beach, and north docks), between which survivors move using vehicles (done via cutscene or forced teleport). New zombie types:
- Conquistador in armor with a Musket can only be killed in melee (bullets and explosives don’t work);
- Splitter splits into two after death;
- DJ makes everyone around dance, and if you join in, you get a reward;
- Gustavo spawns panthers until you kill him.
