GTA 6 in The Game Awards Trailer (and Maybe in Tomorrow’s News?)

0On Thursday evening (04:30 PM PST or 07:30 PM ET on December 11 / 01:30 am UTC on December 12), Los Angeles will host the annual The Game Awards ceremony, where the best video games of 2025 will be honored — along with the most anticipated game of the coming year. GTA 6 is one of the contenders for that title, and it may receive it for the second year in a row. It’s also nominated for Best Trailer, so it’s no surprise that it appeared in the traditional montage video shown before the event.
Among the few shots taken from Trailer 2, one frame stands out. For the first time, we see the bedroom scene without the Rockstar Games Presents title card.
However, you shouldn’t expect any news about Grand Theft Auto VI at TGA — the developers have long relied exclusively on their own channels for announcements and updates.
There’s a much better chance we’ll hear something new as soon as tomorrow, on the 9th. A new update for GTA Online is being released not on Tuesday, as usual, but on Wednesday, December 10. This is happening for the first time, and fans suspect there’s a reason behind it. But then the obvious question arises: what could be so important that it has to be shown on Tuesday, forcing the DLC to be pushed back by a day? Why not wait until Friday? Or does it have to happen right before The Game Awards? But then Thursday is still free.
