Since Las Venturas is clearly based on Las Vegas, imagining it without casino hotels is impossible.
GTA: San Andreas features numerous gambling establishments, although not all are accessible. Two of them play major roles in the storyline, and you can try your luck in these (plus one smaller location) with
various games of chance. Four more require you to
purchase suites — each costing $6,000 — to gain access. The remaining casinos can only be viewed from the outside.
Most gambling venues (though not all) are situated on The Strip, just like in real-life Las Vegas. To explore the casinos, it’s best to start from the south end of The Strip, visiting one on the left, then one on the right, zigzagging your way northward.

The Four Dragons Casino
One of the two casinos central to the Las Venturas storyline (it becomes the base for planning the heist of Caligula’s Palace). Owned by Wu Zi Mu, it serves as a front for the Chinese Triads. It is open from the moment you start the game, offering blackjack, video poker, Wheel of Fortune, roulette, and slot machines. A bar and restaurant are present inside, but you can’t make purchases there. Side rooms (a storage room on the right and our blind friend’s office on the left) appear in
story cutscenes. On the roof above the main entrance, you can find a sniper rifle and an AK-47. A katana is hidden in the bushes to the left of the entrance. Collecting all the
Horseshoes unlocks four additional weapons nearby. You can also pick up a pistol from a guard, but doing so will spark a gunfight and attract police attention. A save point becomes available outside right after completing
Flight School.
Styled with an Eastern aesthetic, the name references the “Four Asian Tigers” — South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore — known for rapid economic growth from the 1950s to 1990s. The in-game casino is based on the
real-life casino hotel that has gone through various names: Flamingo Capri (1959–1979), Imperial Palace (1979–2012), The Quad (2012–2014), and The Linq (from 2014 onward). Its design also resembles the Red Dragon casino from the movie Rush Hour 2 (2001) starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.
Come-A-Lot
An inaccessible location, also not involved in the storyline. Nearby, you can find a body armor, an SMG, and a Banshee for
Exports and Imports. The name is a play not only on the castle of the legendary King Arthur but also on an expression referring to intense ejaculation. Modeled after the
Excalibur Hotel and Casino.
The Pink Swan
An inaccessible location, also not involved in the storyline. It is the in-game counterpart of the real-world gambling establishment called
Flamingo (formerly Flamingo Hilton).
The Camel’s Toe
The casino is inaccessible, but a suite in the hotel can be purchased. It is not involved in the storyline. Nearby, there are two horseshoes and a Euros available for Exports and Imports. Another name with a risqué undertone. Modeled after
Luxor Las Vegas.
The High Roller
An inaccessible location, also not involved in the storyline. Represents the real-life casino
Horseshoe (from 1973 to 1986 known as the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, and from 1986 to 2022 — Bally’s Las Vegas).
Royal Casino
An inaccessible location, featured in one story mission in which CJ rescues Madd Dogg. Nearby you can find a horseshoe, a bouquet of flowers, a police bribe, street food vendors, and a Super GT for Exports and Imports. In real life:
Casino Royale (from 1978 to 1992 — Nob Hill).
Pirates in Men’s Pants
The casino is inaccessible, but you can purchase a hotel suite. It plays no role in the storyline. In the surrounding area, you can find a katana, a shovel, a police bribe, a horseshoe, and an
oyster. The Vortex will only appear some time after returning to Los Santos. The name (abbreviated as PIMP) parodies — no, not Pirates of the Caribbean, but, as is believed, The Pirates of Penzance. There’s a large ship model in the pond near the building (you can board and explore it), just like at its real-life counterpart —
Treasure Island.
Caligula’s Palace
The second accessible casino, which plays a significant role in the storyline (this is the one we will be robbing). However, there is no save point or purchasable suite (despite the game guide calling it the largest hotel in the world). Initially owned by the Sindacco mafia, it was later divided between the Leone and Forelli families. This is where lawyer Ken Rosenberg settled as the manager after the events of
GTA: Vice City and rehab, and where Don Salvatore met his future wife — waitress Maria Latore (the couple is familiar to us from
GTA 3 and
GTA: Liberty City Stories). During the missions, Carl also meets a croupier named Millie, who eventually becomes his
girlfriend. Inside, you can play blackjack, video poker, the Wheel of Fortune, roulette, and slot machines. The gambling establishment is named after Roman Emperor Caligula, known for his controversial reputation. This, combined with the Italian styling and mafia connections, links it to
Caesars Palace.
The Clown’s Pocket
This casino is inaccessible to players, though a hotel suite can be purchased. It plays no role in the storyline. A sniper rifle can be found on the roof, while a ZR-350 for Exports and Imports and a horseshoe are located nearby. Behind the buildings, you can try your hand as a high-rise crane operator. The name is a pun on a slang term for vagina while the theme and design are inspired by the
Circus Circus.
The Visage
This location is inaccessible to players and does not play a role in the storyline. However, a horseshoe and an oyster can be found there. The casino is modeled after
The Mirage.
Starfish Casino
Inaccessible to players and not involved in the storyline. However, nearby you can find a horseshoe, an SMG, a BMX, and a Kart. The design is based on the real-life casino currently known as
The Cromwell (since 2013), formerly Barbary Coast (1979–2007) and Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall and Saloon (2007–2013).
Old Venturas Strip Casinos
The next block to the right is the Old Venturas Strip, home to about five unnamed establishments (if you count the various Casino signs). However, one of them is named in a taxi mission — Freemont St. Casino. This is a reference to
Fremont Street, a retro-style Las Vegas district. The neon figures of Avery Carrington and Candy Suxxx (remember them from Vice City?) are also inspired by this area — the second most iconic street in the gambling capital features the well-known
signs of Vegas Vic (from the 1950s) and his girlfriend Vickie (1980). In the next building across the street, you can buy a suite. There are also other spots like a
strip club, plus two horseshoes, a Banshee, and hot dog vendors — it’s definitely worth checking out.
The Emerald Isle
An inaccessible location that appears in one storyline mission involving the corrupt cops. Also hidden there are two rocket launchers, a bouquet of flowers, a parachute, a horseshoe, and more. It towers at the very north of The Strip and clearly resembles
The D Las Vegas (previously known as Sundance (1980–1987) and Fitzgeralds (1987–2012); the Irish theme of the latter was specifically used by the developers.)
V-Rock Hotel
Recognizable name, right? There’s a
V-Rock radio station in GTA: Vice City. This location is inaccessible and not involved in the storyline. However, behind the building, you can find a horseshoe and an oyster in a guitar-shaped pool, and on the nearby courts, you can
shoot some hoops. In general, this place wouldn’t belong in the list of casinos — if not for one detail: during taxi missions, passengers sometimes ask to be dropped off at V-Rock Casino, not V-Rock Hotel. And the real-life inspiration, the
Hard Rock in Las Vegas, is a casino hotel.
Casino Floor
A gambling establishment
located west of The Strip, in the direction of the Las Venturas Bandits stadium. This is the third and final accessible casino among nearly two dozen in the game. A modest spot — blackjack, video poker, and a Wheel of Fortune are crammed into a single small room. But here, you can also play billiards.
