GTA: VCS Sold 2.5 Million More Copies Than Previously Reported

0Take-Two has blocked the registration of the Vice City Subs trademark by DT Global Investment Holdings for use in the restaurant business. In support of its claims, representatives of the rights holder cited GTA: Vice City and GTA: Vice City Stories, also disclosing updated sales figures.
While the sales data for GTA: VC remained unchanged at 17.5 million copies, GTA: VCS performed significantly better than previously believed. The last official count, dated March 26, 2008, stood at 4.5M copies sold. However, it has now been revealed that total sales reached 7 million copies — 2.5M more than earlier estimates. This can be considered an incredible achievement for a video game that was officially released 20 years ago exclusively on PSP and PS2 (and is now once again being ported to PC by fans).
