GTA 6 (Not) Fakes: PS5 Trophies, Gloriana and Leonida Websites, 700 Stores in the Open World, and More

176Since the release of a large batch of content showcasing GTA 6, the amount of deliberately false or simply unverifiable information has decreased. However, that doesn’t mean it has disappeared completely. Let’s take a look at the most interesting cases.
On X (formerly Twitter), many Rockstar Games employees hang out. They’re usually easy to spot thanks to photos of exclusive branded merch. But there are also accounts pretending to be Rockstars that aren’t. One such account posted a screenshot showing PS5 trophies. Naturally, it’s in low resolution and includes some suspicious numbers. Reportedly, 6 out of 58 trophies (7% total) were earned in 23 hours. This is technically possible if someone focuses only on story missions. But the hoax was soon debunked — the image turned out to be fake. The “company illustrator” (why would someone in that role have access to a test build?) also posted a “confirming” video, which wasn’t convincing either. License plates referencing Liberty City and Gloriana sparked debate among fans: could the iconic metropolis and a second state return in GTA VI? To make it more convincing, someone created visitgloriana.com, which redirects to the official game subpage. Same goes for visitleonida.com. Of course, verification showed that the domain owners had no affiliation with Take-Two. Reddit frequently sees posts by people claiming to work at R* and dumping supposed Grand Theft Auto VI details. Most of these are clearly wishful thinking or educated guesses, not worth dissecting in detail. But one list — not from Reddit, but from X (formerly Twitter) — caught the community’s attention. (And gave us something to think about.)

- The wanted level features six stars again. (Symbolic.)
- The 2022-leak “relationship slider” is back. Functions like the honor system in RDR 2. (Went to a strip club alone — Lucia got jealous?)
- Male strip clubs exist. (She decided to get even — went for a peek herself.)
- The radar is rectangular, with pink GPS waypoints. (Makes sense.)
- The scene from Trailer 2 where a guy buys beer is gameplay, not a cutscene. (This was speculated online before.)
- The character wheel is split into three: Jason, Lucia, and both protagonists at once. The latter is used during missions and heists. (We’ve long suspected co-op — but how exactly do you control two at once?)
- Jason’s special ability is a Dead Eye-like slow-motion targeting system. Lucia’s is similar, but limited to one powerful shot. This is supposedly tied to his military background. (Honestly, we hope this isn’t true — we’ve already seen similar mechanics in GTA 5 and the westerns.)
- Prone movement, seen in earlier leaks, has been scrapped. (Shame — cool feature.)
- Weight gain/loss is possible. (But why?)
- No burglary minigames. (What would be the point? GTA VI isn’t about that.)
- Pedestrians react if you walk around with a gun out. (No surprise there.)
- Weapon loadout is limited — the rest goes in your car trunk. (Fans have wanted this for a while. Pocket RPGs have long become a meme.)
- Dual-wielding is not implemented. (We’ll save that for the Max Payne remake.)
- Gore and dismemberment based on Red Dead Redemption II systems. (Excellent!)
- Car handling is reportedly the best it’s ever been. (No way!)
- No music playback outside vehicles. (Then what’s the point of those wireless earbuds seen in screenshots? For comms with other characters? Or just another useless GTA Online-style accessory?)
- The game world is an island, lacking Florida’s northwest peninsula. (The map is taking shape.)
- Underwater areas with treasure and secrets to explore. (This existed before — it’s expected now.)
- Shopping malls and skyscrapers with usable elevators. (Another long-standing dream.)
- Over 700 stores, most with full interiors as part of the open world. (Would be amazing — but unlikely.)
- No parody of Disney World in the Sunshine State. (Avoiding a lawsuit?)
- Story divided into chapters like in RDR 2 — five in total. Trailer 2 footage comes from the first three. (Past games were also divided, albeit more loosely.)
- A character named Donnie, Jason’s friend working for Brian, is described as a freak. (Even if fake — hilarious detail.)
- No fully explicit sex scenes. (Modders, time to make sex in games great again.)
GTA 6 conversation has sort of dried up by now, so hey here’s a fun question.

What do you guys think Jason and Lucia’s last names are?
My guesses are Lucia Caminos and Jason Duvall. Why? Because they sound cool, duh. pic.twitter.com/X1wgeK20DG
