Why GTA 6 Is Clearly the Most Anticipated Entertainment Product in History

We’re used to calling GTA 6 the most anticipated entertainment product in history — but is that really true? The thing is, the entertainment industry changes far too quickly, which is why it’s easier to evaluate it in shorter time frames.

During the week of May 2–8, Grand Theft Auto VI ranked only seventh among the most talked-about projects, accounting for 2.22% of all mentions. For comparison, the leading title, The Mandalorian and Grogu, reached 4.74%.

The devil doesn’t wear Prada — the devil is in the details. Every title on that list is either about to release or has just launched, meaning they are currently being heavily marketed. Meanwhile, GTA VI is still half a year away from release, and its marketing campaign hasn’t even started yet. On top of that, it’s the only video game in the entire top 10.

So yes, over the long run, GTA 6 truly is the most anticipated entertainment product in history.
