Rockstar India Employee Complains About Workload Due to GTA 6

A review posted on Glassdoor about working at Rockstar India has drawn attention not only because of the company’s working conditions, but also because of GTA 6.

A current employee rated their experience 2 out of 5 stars and listed the following pros and cons.

Pros

• Free food.
• Opportunities for growth, although limited.
• Working on the most anticipated entertainment project in the world (clearly referring to Grand Theft Auto VI).

Cons

• Unpaid crunch periods.
• Since April, the work environment has become extremely hectic.
• Some colleagues reportedly worked until 3 a.m.
• Expectations to complete tasks that normally take 5-6 months within just 2-3 months.
• Complaints to the department head are pointless.

The employee noted that they enjoyed working there last year, but the final weeks of April turned out to be especially difficult.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to verify the authenticity of the review. However, it is entirely possible that the claims are genuine.

It is also important to note that even if the review is accurate, it does not necessarily mean that all Rockstar Games studios operate in the same way. With offices located across different parts of the world, working conditions can vary significantly. Cultural differences within the Indian market — which has a population of nearly 1.5 billion people — should also be taken into account. Still, the workload is likely enormous right now, as it appears the company has no intention of delaying GTA VI again.
