In early March, the online space was shaken by news of a new GTA 6 leak, which was supposedly stored on someone’s phone for years before being published. At the time, several major outlets even reported on it. However, users familiar with the topic — including us — weren’t fooled; the video was immediately labeled as fake.

Now, the person who originally uploaded the clip has come forward, openly admitting that it was fabricated. The creator says their goal was to make the “leak” look as believable as possible — and to some extent, they succeeded.

The author also shared parts of the creation process, noting that it took months to build models based on real-life Miami. Initially, they planned to include Jason, but he didn’t turn out well, so the idea was dropped. They also tried to choose a location that wouldn’t reveal the real setting, although the bridge itself was inspired by one shown in Trailer 2.
In reality, the success of the Bridge Leak was likely driven less by its level of detail and more by people’s willingness to consume anything related to Grand Theft Auto VI, combined with a lack of critical thinking among audiences and, in some cases, a lack of expertise among certain journalists.
