MindsEye Reviews and Layoffs at Build A Rocket Boy

MindsEye can be confidently described as a failed game. Just take a look at the press reviews — while the media isn’t always to be blindly trusted, this is definitely not one of those cases:

• GamesRadar+ — 2/5,
• GameSpot — 3/10,
• Eurogamer — 1/5.

The situation on Steam hasn’t been any better — users are clearly dissatisfied with the new release. Same story on Metacritic: 2.6 out of 10 from players and 38 out of 100 from critics for the PC version; 2.9 and 28 on PS5. Digital Foundry review highlighted the technical side of the fiasco. How did this reflect on the creators of this “masterpiece”? As reported by IGN and later confirmed by the company itself, Build A Rocket Boy is preparing for mass layoffs. Up to a hundred employees could lose their jobs.
