Take-Two May Acquire New Studios Using GTA 6 Revenue

During the investor call that accompanied the release of the latest financial report, the head of Take-Two was asked what the company plans to do with the revenue generated by GTA 6.

Strauss Zelnick replied that there are three ways to deploy capital:

• returning money to shareholders,
• developing more video games,
• acquiring new companies.

According to him, the corporation actively pursues all three strategies. However, particular attention was given to the last option. The CEO emphasized that any future acquisitions would be carefully selected and driven solely by creative considerations. He also pointed out that all of T2 acquisitions over nearly the past 20 years have proven highly successful, including Zynga, Gearbox, and others.

The scenario most frequently discussed by both the gaming press and players is the potential acquisition of Finnish studio Remedy. The company is currently developing Max Payne 1&2 Remake with funding from Rockstar Games and is also the creator of the original games, as well as franchises such as Alan Wake and Control.
