Rockstar Racing Explains Nürburgring 24 Hours Absence (Spoiler: GTA 6)

0Viken Motorsport (Rockstar Racing), a racing team sponsored by and partly made up of Rockstar Games employees, explained why it did not compete in this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hours — a race it famously won in 2022. Two reasons were given for the decision.
The first was the release of a certain “game” in November. While the title was never mentioned directly, it is obviously referring to GTA 6. What’s more, team members hope to replace their 20-year-old BMW 325i with something faster next year “if people like the game”.
Incidentally, another post published two months ago also mentioned that the developers were working hard both on their race car and “on a certain game”. While not a direct confirmation, it is another strong sign that there will be no further delay. The second reason was the death of good friend Juha, although no further details about the person’s role were disclosed. Even so, the team did not completely ignore the race weekend and attended the event as spectators.
