Creators of FiveM and RedM Join Rockstar Games

On Tuesday, CircoLoco Records — Rockstar Games music label — dropped a new release. That felt odd, since the usual day for premieres like this is Friday (when streaming platforms refresh their catalogs). Which meant: something bigger was coming later in the week. A Red Dead Redemption port news we thought. But no — it turned out to be much more interesting.

Instead of sticking to last year’s warning to RP servers, R* decided to fully step into the RolePlay scene. The company has joined forces with Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM and RedM — multiplayer mods that let players dive into roleplay worlds built on GTA 5 and RDR 2. That also explains why these projects had long been tolerated, even though around 8 years ago there was a moment when Take-Two could have shut them down entirely.

In their official statement, the Rockstar promised support for the developers of FiveM and RedM — now they’ll get access to more tools and resources. The GTA community welcomed this synergy with enthusiasm, as it helps restore players’ faith in R* after several questionable moves.
