GTA 6 Price: 70, 80, 90, or 100 Dollars?

The next most important question after the release date is the price of a copy of GTA 6. Currently, new AAA titles sell at a standard price of $70, but it’s expected that Rockstar Games next hit will cost even more. And that will affect the entire industry.

If Grand Theft Auto VI is priced at 80 bucks, all other publishers will automatically raise their prices as well. Projects that were $70 will climb to $80; those at $60 — to $70, and so on. But what if Take-Two decides to ask for $90 or even $100? Gamers might be willing to shell out such a hefty sum for one highly anticipated title — but to do so on a regular basis? It might end up being more of a psychological shock than a true financial one, considering players are already paying $100 for their favorite entertainment — it’s just masked as exclusive content or early access bonuses. Rockstar could be the first to demand more — for the standard edition.

As of today, half of our readers believe the price of GTA 6 will be over $80.

If one Franklin (not Clinton) seems too much, then the $80–$90 range looks more likely. An analyst who previously predicted the price compared it like this: GTA 5 would cost around $83 in today’s money, and GTA 4 — about $90.
One way to ease the burden on consumers’ wallets could be to split the single-player and multiplayer modes, as was done with GTA Online. However, this is more of a long-term solution. After all, who would want to dive straight into multiplayer without experiencing the story first? But buying multiplayer separately when moving to a new platform (PC or next-gen consoles) — that’s a different story.

The community also has certain concerns about the U.S. administration’s plans to impose additional tariffs, first on Canada, Mexico, and China (where not only hardware but also discs are manufactured), and later — globally. Fortunately, Trump’s initiative has been put on hold for now, and there’s a precedent with the Nintendo Switch 2, whose pre-orders in the U.S. opened later than elsewhere but ultimately didn’t see a price hike. But who knows what might happen next?..
