Tomorrow marks the Mafia: The Old Country showcase at PAX East 2025, where the gameplay will be revealed for the first time — and possibly the official release date will be announced (although we unofficially already know it). The event will be livestreamed.
Over the past two weeks, the developers have been sharing short video clips, clearly taken from the upcoming presentation.
Notably, the last video includes a tag from the American ESRB ratings board. It states that the Mafia prequel is intended for players aged 17 and up due to content such as Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes, and Use of Alcohol. It also mentions in-game purchases involving real money. Since the game is described as a story-driven experience without multiplayer, these purchases most likely refer to optional extras such as outfits, weapons, or vehicles. As for the European market, PEGI has yet to issue a corresponding rating for Mafia: TOC.
