Updated 13.05. A new video from Digital Foundry has been added.
As we already know from the trailer itself it was captured on a PS5. According to the developers, the footage is split 50/50 between gameplay and cutscenes. In other words, half of what we saw on Tuesday is actual GTA 6 gameplay, not just scripted cinematics.

- The actual resolution of Trailer 2 is 1440p, or in other words, 2K. It was upscaled to 4K using a tool like FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR). And if you subtract the black bars (letterboxing added for a more cinematic feel), the true resolution becomes 2560×1152.
- The video runs at 30 frames per second — that’s the framerate we observe. It’s likely that a 60 fps mode won’t be available at launch, as it would significantly impact image quality.
- Ray tracing, previously tested in GTA 5, will be implemented on a much higher level and will include ray-traced shadows and reflections.
- Visually, gameplay and cutscenes will look the same, and the latter will run in real-time. A good comparison is RDR 2.
- The character models are top-tier, with reviewers specifically noting Lucia’s hair and Jason’s arm hair (possibly hinting at a dedicated body hair system), as well as sweat stains on clothing, which looks impressively realistic.
- The only thing that didn’t impress was the water in the bodies of water.
