GTA 6 and Its Delay: Opinions and Reactions

GTA 6 stunned everyone — even the people who made Grand Theft Auto what we know it as today were no exception. Former developers are giving us a glimpse into the current state of the game to help explain why it was pushed back by an entire year. Meanwhile, the actors are doing a great job adding extra hype for the most anticipated entertainment product.
Obbe Vermeij, a contributor to every main installment through and including GTA 4, shared his insights. He believes the next game is already fully playable. The second trailer likely confirmed that impression. According to him, all that’s left for the team is to fix bugs, test, and polish things up. After the trailer’s release, he mentioned that such presentations help avoid issues like bad animations, unfinished buildings, or missing missions. Vermeij also expects a gameplay trailer isn’t too far off.
Mike York, an animator who worked on GTA V and RDR 2, suspects the next 12 months will be spent fixing not only what they expected — but also what they didn’t. It’s all because of the sheer scale of the project. He also thinks there’s more work to be done on combat mechanics. But Rockstar Games has both the money and the luxury of time. It’s arguably the only studio in the industry that can afford to delay a title until it reaches the desired quality bar.
Ned Luke, who played Michael in GTA 5, recently shared his impressions in an interview. To say he was impressed by the beauty of the upcoming hit would be an understatement. He even dedicated a stream to it, highlighting the design of the main characters and the so-called jiggle physics. He wished the new stars to enjoy every moment of fame they’re bound to receive after GTA VI launches. As for his own appearance in the game — he’s not ruling it out, noting that “Rockstars don’t close doors”. After all, characters from the past are regularly brought back in GTA Online.
At Comic Con Brussels, Shawn Fonteno (Franklin) expressed his excitement. Steven Ogg (Trevor), on the other hand — as expected — said he “doesn’t care, doesn’t follow it, doesn’t know”.
Oh yes. It's absolutely playable.

There will just be bugs to fix, artwork to refine, maybe a few missions that aren't quite working and more testing to do. Maybe the frame rate isn't stable yet. Some crashes. Stuff like that.
When making a trailer you can easily work round the issues.

You can avoid glitches, bad animations, unfinished buildings, missing missions etc.
You can even record a trailer at a higher framerate than the game is running at.
Since we're still over a year from release, I would think they want to fix all the glitches with animations, weapon changes, getting in and out of car first.

Not for a while I think.
