Earlier this month, Michael Hollick, the actor who voiced Niko Bellic, the protagonist of GTA 4 — created a profile on Cameo, a platform where celebrities record personalized greetings and messages for fans in exchange for payment.

Why is this noteworthy? Back when Grand Theft Auto IV became a massive financial success, Hollick — who was paid $100,000 for voice and motion capture work — requested a higher compensation from Rockstar Games. They refused, and since then, he had distanced himself from the franchise entirely. Despite being the first GTA cast member to attend Comic-Con (San Diego, 2008), he had not associated with the series in any public way — until now. Hollick has unexpectedly stepped back into the spotlight, reconnecting with fans and embracing his most iconic role once again.

He’s not the only long-silent voice from the franchise to reemerge recently. Earlier this year, Young Maylay, who voiced CJ in GTA: San Andreas, began making appearances at conventions and fan events. Maybe Michael Hollick will soon follow suit.
