0Take-Two financial report for May, June & July brought no surprises. Nothing new about GTA 6 was revealed. The release date remained the same — already good. But the press needs comments, and the company’s CEO was asked about the possible price of Grand Theft Auto VI — a topic hotly discussed both in analysts’ reports and in “rumors” from “insiders”.
Meanwhile, Rhys Elliott from Alinea Analytics believes that the base version is unlikely to cost $100. And there are several reasons for that.

- The real cash cow right now is GTA Online. Limiting the audience of a new release just to make quick money isn’t very smart. And don’t forget about the global phenomenon of the cost-of-living crisis.
- Rockstar Games needs to move players from GTA 5 to the new installment, and raising the price will slow down this process — the biggest threat of all. GTA VI will be competing with TikTok, Netflix, and even its own predecessor.
- It’s easy to set a price tag of $100 or even $120 for the most expensive edition, with early access and Shark Cards. A consumer with disposable income will be able to pay that much, and nowadays that’s normal for AAA projects.
