The release of Mafia: The Old Country took place exactly one month ago, but so far the developers haven’t shared any sales results. We may get official figures in November, when Take-Two publishes its next financial report. For now, we can rely on estimates from analyst Rhys Elliott of Alinea Analytics. According to his calculations, the Mafia prequel has already sold over 1 million copies. Breakdown by platform:
  • 643,000 — PS5 and PS5 Pro,
  • 337,000 — PC (Steam),
  • 117,000 — Xbox Series X/S.

The new Mafia also ranked third among August PlayStation releases, behind only sports simulators, but ahead of both a remake and a remaster of two classic games.

It’s unknown what budget was allocated for Mafia: The Old Country and whether development costs have been recouped yet. Still, it’s safe to say that in its first month the game has generated at least $55,000,000. That’s a conservative estimate, since $50 is only the price of the standard edition — there are also pricier versions available.

As for the overall sales of the Mafia franchise, the total has now surpassed 35 million copies. According to the latest data from the rights holder, that figure breaks down as follows:
  • Mafia 1 — 3M,
  • Mafia 2 — 5M,
  • Mafia 3 — 7M,
  • Definitive Editions of all three titles (remake of the first and remasters of the other two) — 19M.
