Rockstar Games employees are actively preparing for the release of GTA 6, reworking and improving their own ecosystem. Earlier we reported that the Support website had received a redesign. A bit later, in July, the Wall on what used to be called the Social Club website was removed — the place where players could track crew activity, unlocked achievements, saved songs, and more. Now, crews have Hierarchy pages as their main section, while users see a list of linked games.
Around the same time, the RGSC overlay finally started hiding IP addresses. They can still be revealed by pressing a button, but the previous lack of this feature caused personal information leaks during livestreams.
And starting Monday, messaging on the R* website has been disabled — something the developers confirmed. This change does not affect the ability to send SMS or use the in-game chat (though it’s still unavailable in the Enhanced version) in GTA Online. We can assume the feature may return later.
Rockstar aren’t only removing features, they’re also adding new ones. The newly introduced Discord Rich Presence now shows details about a user’s gaming session. More information (game title, number of players in the session, etc.) is displayed next to nicknames. The feature is enabled by default but can be turned off in the Rockstar Games Launcher settings. It works with the following titles:
