Yesterday, October 14, Dan Houser’s book based on one of his new franchises — A Better Paradise — went on sale. Among other things, the author wrote about the passing of his 90-year-old father in May of this year. Although a jazz-themed outlet mentioned it earlier this summer, the GTA community only found out about it now.
Walter Houser was an English lawyer and saxophonist who performed at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London, where he was known as Wally. But, as often happens, a person’s greatest achievements are their children — Sam and Dan, who once dreamed of becoming rock stars in music but ended up becoming “rock stars” of the video game industry instead. Thanks to his sons, he was immortalized in their legendary video game series. In GTA 4 he appeared as a busker, and in GTA: TBoGT he was a saxophonist on the radio station Integrity 2.0.
