0On Thursday, April 9, news broke of Afrika Bambaataa’s death. The artist died of prostate cancer at the age of 68, passing away just shortly before his birthday on April 17.
The hip-hop pioneer made a major contribution to the development of the genre in the 1980s, and his influence can also be heard in two games from the Grand Theft Auto series.
