Rockstars Unhappy with Schreier Poking into GTA 6 Development

22Journalist Jason Schreier is highly regarded by audiences and colleagues, but representatives of the gaming industry are far less fond of him. The reason is simple: leveraging his insider knowledge, he often leaks critically important information. The latest example is a tweet from a GTA 6 developer.
A popular account on X (formerly Twitter) published a post that read: “Waiting for this man to drop any good news about Grand Theft Auto VI”, alongside a photo of the reporter. One of the replies stated:
Saikat Koley is a Lead Character Artist at Rockstar India who worked on RDR 2. Shortly afterward, he deleted his comment and even deactivated his profile.
Of course, his remark cannot be considered an official company statement, but it clearly reflects Rockstar Games attitude toward Schreier. In the past, he spoiled a major surprise by reporting in advance on the showcase announcement of GTA VI. Rumor has it this upset Sam Houser so much that the executive even considered delaying the reveal just to spite the journalist.

Nah. We don’t want him snooping to our company and project.
Rockstar Games doesn’t really like Jason Schreier, which is understandable since he leaked the first GTA 6 trailer announcement a day early, and ruined the surprise for both fans and the studio.
