The day after the release of the new version of GTA 5 for PC, NVIDIA rolled out fresh drivers 572.70, which include Game Ready support, compatibility with RTX 5070 graphics cards, and a fix for the black screen bug.

To understand how ray tracing works in Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced, you can check out this page, where various locations in the game world are shown with different ray tracing settings applied.

A more traditional way to compare with the Legacy version is through video reviews on YouTube. These clearly demonstrate the changes.
  • Explosions now feature more fire, smoke, and even blast waves, which were previously absent.
  • More splashes in water, both from vehicles and weapons.
  • Improved lighting reveals previously hard-to-notice details.
  • Shadows now finally cast from headlights.
  • Reflections in puddles and on various surfaces.
  • Too many shards fly out when shooting at glass (we’ll consider this a downside).

And just for fun, here’s another comparison — between the very first and the latest versions. Just to appreciate the progress made by developers over nearly 12 years.
