Mafia: The Old Country — Limited Edition, Developer Diaries, and Actors

As the release approaches, we’re seeing more and more of Mafia: The Old Country. Over the past 10 days, the third and fourth developer diaries have been published (first, second), offering insight into the development process and showcasing new footage — including, for the first time, the HUD. On top of that, the details about an additional game edition have emerged.

Choosing Unreal Engine 5 proved to be the perfect decision for Hangar 13. However, bringing the game world to life with stunning visuals required a lot of hard work. While a single building model in Mafia 3 or Mafia: Definitive Edition had about 20,000 – 30,000 triangles, the prequel pushes that number past 1 million. Two studios — one in Brno, Czech Republic, and the other in Petaluma, California — were responsible for helping actors bring out their full potential during motion capture and facial animation sessions. In addition to the previously announced Standard and Deluxe editions, pre-orders are now open for another version — the Limited Edition. And it lives up to its name: it’s only available in a few Central European countries, namely the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland. Pricing ranges from $67 to $83, compared to $50 for the standard version.

The Mafia: The Old Country — Limited Edition includes:
