GTA 6 Music Rumors: Drake, Jermaine Dupri, and Skrilla

Actors working with Rockstar Games in general — and on GTA 6 in particular — are bound by extremely strict non-disclosure agreements. But musicians whose tracks might end up in the game, as well as their teams, seem to have no NDAs at all. It’s likely that licensing goes through record labels, and the artists only find out afterward — something they later brag about. Or perhaps they’re just lying for a few extra minutes of fame and a bump in streams. Not that any of them can really be called struggling artists. So is it the handiwork of their managers — or simply a lack of consequences?
Last year, at least two artists — T-Pain and ScHoolboy Q — publicly confirmed they were involved in the making of GTA VI. In recent months, two more names have joined that list.
Back in June, producer and rapper Jermaine Dupri said in an interview that he’d been invited to create his own radio station for Grand Theft Auto. He also mentioned that Drake already has one, and might even release exclusive tracks for the new Online (or was he talking about the current one?). Interestingly, neither of them has worked on the series before. Then, just a week ago, Skrilla revealed on a podcast that he plays GTA Online, where his in-game character looks like him, wears the same clothes, and drives the same cars. The interesting part came next — he claimed that his track Doot Doot (6 7) will appear in GTA 6. That song became a meme earlier this year thanks to a line referencing 67th Street in Philadelphia. It first popped up in one TikTok video, then another, and another — and soon it was everywhere. In the case of Drake and Dupri, it’s still believable that Rockstar might have approached them for collaboration. After all, celebrity features are nothing new — remember Rosalia’s album promotion or Dr. Dre’s own in-game appearance. But Skrilla’s claim is harder to believe. Devs love to parody viral trends, sure — but would they really include a meme track that could be forgotten by the time the game actually releases next year? Well, we’ll only know for sure once the full radio station tracklists are revealed.
