Do you remember the guy who hacked Rockstar Games and leaked the GTA 6 pre-alpha? Today we learned a little more about his fate after his associates managed to deliver a phone with a charger by drone, allowing the hacker to get back in touch.

The high-profile case investigated in 2023 ended with Arion Kurtaj being placed in a medical facility, where he was expected to stay for an unspecified period until he was no longer considered a threat. According to him, it wasn’t the worst place to be: there was no full isolation, there was a garden, and he was allowed outside (1 hour daily), to go shopping (3 hours weekly), cook for himself, go fishing (8 hours per week), and even receive a £700 allowance.

However, this peaceful lifestyle eventually came to an end. UK Secretary of State for Justice David Lammy demanded that Kurtaj be transferred to a higher-security facility. The reason was his behavior at the police station and his stated intention to repeat his crimes. As a result, the hacker ended up in the London prison HMP Wandsworth. The next hearing in the case will take place at Southwark Crown Court on April 2.

Arion also asked whether the Grand Theft Auto VI source code had been leaked publicly. He was told that only the GTA 5 source code had surfaced (this happened the same year he was imprisoned, but on Christmas).

It is believed that the GTA VI source code may be in the possession of a group that paid for it but does not want to release it publicly in order to avoid completely destroying the reputation of what is considered the most important video game in history. They will most likely publish everything only after the game’s release.

The authenticity of the Telegram messages could have been questioned, but the imprisoned member of the Lapsus$ hacking group also posted several selfies on Snapchat. In the captions he calls the prison a dump and says he is sure his communication device will soon be confiscated, though he hopes to get another one.
