Actually, at this point, the question isn’t so but rather, “When will the GTA 6 delay be announced?” Fans would certainly prefer to avoid such an outcome, but it seems increasingly likely. Think about it: the first month of 2025 is nearly over, the marketing campaign hasn’t started, yet the game is still slated for a fall release. That’s why we (and others) believe we might need to wait until next year. Furthermore, the release of the second trailer directly depends on the actual launch date of Grand Theft Auto VI.
But why have the developers been silent for over a year? Mike York, who worked as an animator at Rockstar New England from 2012 to 2017 and contributed to the creation of GTA 5, GTA Online, and RDR 2, has shared thoughts on his channel about various conspiracy theories, including moon. He believes the radio silence is a deliberate marketing strategy that keeps the conversation around the game alive.
As we’ve speculated before, the next move could be the publication of the first official screenshots. There’s a chance this might happen as soon as next Friday — January 31st. Why? Rockstar Games has a tradition of making important announcements within the first five weeks of the year:
Another Reason to expect news soon is Take-Two financial report scheduled for February 6, and it might reiterate any news Rockstar Games announces a few days earlier. Alternatively, the news could focus on the next-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V / Online for PC, slated for release this year. Or, perhaps, we’ll hear about both?
Either way, GTA 6 Trailer 2 might still be far off. Counting the days since the debut trailer is no longer meaningful — those timelines have long been exceeded. As such, the aforementioned speculation might not pan out either. After all, it’s just a guess.
