GTA 6 Takes Two Awards at the Golden Joystick Awards 2025

1Today the 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards 2025 ceremony was held, and GTA 6 swept everything it possibly could before even being released.
In the Best Game Trailer category, nearly half of all votes (42%) went to Grand Theft Auto VI. Second and third place received 27% (Kingdom Come: Deliverance II) and 12% (Battlefield 6).
GTA VI also became the Most Wanted Game for the second year in a row (2024), earning 18% of the vote. Its closest competitors scored 16% (The Witcher 4) and 8% (Resident Evil: Requiem).
These mark Rockstar Games 28th and 29th wins at the Golden Joystick Awards. (It could have been 30 if the developers had released Trailer 1 a bit earlier in 2023, instead of waiting until December.) Unlike last year, there were no company representatives present at the ceremony.
Meanwhile, GTA Online and Mafia: The Old Country fell short in their respective categories. The long-running multiplayer title was nominated for Still Playing Award (PC and Console) but didn’t make it into the top three. The Mafia prequel competed for Best Storytelling, taking bronze (8%), right behind Silent Hill f (16%) and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (62%), which, incidentally, was also crowned Ultimate Game of the Year.
